Hamilton’s West Side Little League is one of the best little league baseball teams in the county. They have gone to the LittleLeague World Series 4 times: 1991, 1993, 2007, and 2010.
The City of Hamilton has opened spraygrounds for kids to enjoy in the hot summer months at Benninghofen Park, Jim Grimm Park, Crawford Woods, North End, Millikin Woods, and Booker T. Washington. Marcum Park, opened in 2017, also includes two water features. Six playscapes were updated in 2017, and another 11 will be replaced in 2018.
The Great Miami Rowing Center gets kids and adults on the Great Miami River for recreation. It has a fabulous adaptive program as well for people with disabilities.
For the family
Joyce Park is a gem of a park. Many people know it because it hosts children’s sporting activities, but it is much more than your average park. Among other things, it has archery, bmx bike trail, skateboard park, and Wake Nation, the region’s only cable wake park.
RiversEdge Amphitheater and Overlook has become the prime destination for summer fun due to the extremely popular free Summer Concert Series. With a major donation from Joe and Sarah Marcum, RiversEdge is going to become part of Marcum Park, which will make the space a destination not only for concerts, but also major festivals and other community gatherings.
Hamilton has continued to expand the Great Miami River Recreational Trail Bike Path, making important connections in the 90 mile long river trail system.
Dogs are part of the family, too. The Hamilton Bark Park opened in 2014 and is located at Veteran’s Park. It has small and large dog areas.
